Do I Need to Use My Esteem® Personal Programmer?

Once your Esteem implant is activated, the external programmer is not required for you to hear, so you don't need to carry it with you. However, you still need to use it periodically to monitor the battery life, and to turn the device off.

We recommend using your programmer regularly, or at least once per month. Adjusting your settings can enhance your experience in different environments, and regular use helps you monitor your device's battery life, ensuring you are aware of when it needs replacement.

To determine if your Esteem battery is running low, you can either make an appointment with an Esteem-trained audiologist or check it yourself using your personal programmer. Failing to use the programmer may result in the Esteem battery depleting unexpectedly.
