Step 3: Complete Evaluation Appointment
Meet with an audiologist and surgeon who are trained on the Esteem implant. They will ask questions about your hearing loss and help guide you through any questions or concerns and next steps.
The audiologist will perform additional testing to verify acceptable parameters and appropriateness. The surgeon will perform a medical review and order a CT scan to confirm there is adequate space and proper anatomy and conditions for the implant, go over important risk and safety information, and answer any questions you have about the product or procedure.
Step 4: Getting the Esteem implant
Once you have been found to be a candidate, you can reserve a surgical time whenever you are ready.
The Esteem implant is typically an outpatient procedure and usually takes place under general anesthesia.
Envoy Medical can help answer questions about payment options for the Esteem product. Questions about procedure costs will need to be directed to your healthcare provider.
Activation
Approximately 8 weeks after surgery, you will return to the surgical center for a follow-up appointment. Your audiologist will activate, or turn on, your Esteem implant and program it to your unique hearing needs, customizing three different programs.
The Esteem product is controlled by your Personal Programmer which allows you to turn the device on or off, select the volume, and select one of three unique individualized program settings.
Please be advised that practitioners who implant the Esteen device require specific training on the product and implant procedure. You should confirm with your healthcare professional that they have completed the training requirements.
Please see complete product instructions for use, including all product indications, contraindications, precautions, warnings, and adverse events. Please view important safety information www.envoymedical.com/safety-information
